This place is a complete joke of a rescue society, unprofessional, inconsiderate - and by their actions showed to us how much they do NOT care for birds of prey. According to their website, " OUR MISSION: TO HELP SICK, INJURED, AND ORPHANED BIRDS OF PREY RETURN TO THEIRNATURAL HABITAT." HOWEVER, they do not stand by this. We had a common chicken hawk killing animals at our "farm", which we are close to and treat as our pets with the most upmost respect and love. This hawk was killing our animals and not even eating them - ripping heads off and injuring others. Unaware of what was doing this we set a simple trap and to our surprise caught a chicken hawk. A beautiful and majestic animal - we spared its life and didn't kill it, of which truly we wanted to. We called this crock of a group and explained the situation. They informed us they would send someone out, we gave them directions and they never came. We called and left messages, no one answered so we assumed they would call the next day. No call backs so at noon we called them, and they answered telling us they had to call the volunteer to find out what happened. We got a call back and they said they would be out sometime today...unable to give us any time frame...so were supposed to wait for someone to show up? They clearly didn't the first time and couldn't have the common decency to let us know they couldn't make it? Unacceptable - careless - what about the bird? They don't act concerned. You would think a rescue group that cares ssoo much would call the next day to ask the status...avoid this group. Furthermore San Antonio Wildlife rescue was going to come out that day but we told them not to because this group was going to...this injured bird that could be rehabilitated, but this group by their actions would rather the bird sit in pain in a confined area. Its possible they may do good work...but their reputation formed by their actions shows otherwise. SHAME ON YOUR GROUP!
